The complete course of training is a maximum of twelve months of study according to previous experience, pace, pattern and available time. No previous experience is required but some knowledge of programming in C and C++ is desirable.

Sun Microsystems offer a wide range of speciality Java™ certification options all of which begin with the Sun™ Certified Java Programmer or SCJP certification. This is Sun’s Foundation level certification and a must for anyone wishing to pursue a career as a Java™ Programmer.
The SCJP certification comprises a single exam to certify.

These study books are further complimented with the inclusion of official syllabus training manuals which make excellent technical reference manuals for revision purposes.
We have our own learning and management system called the Virtual Training Centre or VTC which comprises an on-line learning system that delivers interactive learning resources via any Internet connection. Exams are included on most programme routes. Check with your selection advisor for clarification and details of the optional 'Exam Pack' if required.
In-centre attendance available on certain programme routes. Tutor supervised ‘Programming Workshops’ are available for either evening or daytime attendance over the duration of the course.
The Java™ SE Development Kit (JDK) is required for completion of this course and is available as a free download from the Sun Microsystems website. A PC running the Windows® operating system with broadband internet access is required.
