Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) C.C.N.A.

Premium IT Certification

The CCNA® (Cisco® Certified Network Associate) is suitable for those who wish to move into the career area of inter-networking. Routers and switches are the devices that interconnect networks within an organisation or indeed between organisations around the world and Cisco® is widely acknowledged as the leader in this field. The CCNA® award is a Cisco® certification that is widely respected within the industry that shows employers that you have the pre-requisite theoretical knowledge and practical hand-on skills to configure a small to medium sized Cisco® routed and switched network.

The CCNA® is the first in the Cisco® qualification route and is therefore suitable for those new to the industry wishing to gain entry via a suitable qualification route and also for experienced internetworking engineers wishing to gain formal accreditation for their knowledge and skills. The course is presented in two distinct stages comprising two foundation modules covering the basics of networking and a single study book covering the CCNA® syllabus. All practical elements are supported by real-world exercises that build the student’s practical abilities to configure a Cisco® routed and switched network. This is facilitated by PC based simulator software that emulates various real-world routed and switched network configurations and can also be customised to create your own networks.

Communications (or 'Comms’) Engineers design network topologies and configure the connections between networks and network devices such as computers and printers. Comms engineers specialise in the configuration of devices called routers and switches that allow this connectivity to take place. Without routers and switches it would not be possible for computers around the world to communicate with each other.

Those undertaking CCNA® training can consider any of the career pathways listed below, for example:

  • Internetwork Engineer
  • Communications Engineer

Course Overview

This is a mandatory step in the journey to further Cisco® qualifications such as CCNP® (Cisco® Certified Network Professional) or the final CCIE® (Cisco® Certified Internet Engineer).

Study Modules

The course consists of two Seetec authored study books covering the foundation elements and one main external study book covering the individual elements of the CCNA® programme.
